Party Canapés – Gourmet Food for Your Kid’s Birthday Party

Planning a birthday party for your kids? Not to worry. This blog will help you get organized and set up one of the best birthday parties for your child. Although we don’t usually give big birthday celebrations for our children every single year, we do try whenever we can. As a parent, you always want to give your kids the best and you want your children to remember when they grow up that they had an awesome childhood.

Birthday parties can a bit challenging to organize especially if both parents are working. If this is the case, you may have to hire the services of a catering company so they can prepare the food and you can take care of the rest so you do not shell out that much money. By hiring professionals, you will also have a not so typical kids’ birthday party food. They can add twists to the menu such as canapés. Gourmet food like canapés is getting more popular and who says you can’t have it at a kids’ birthday party?

  1. Choose a theme for the party. Kids love themes. Whether your child is a girl or a boy, they all love a themed party. So, the first thing you have to do is talk to your child. Ask him who his favourite character is. It could be a Marvel super hero or perhaps one of the characters from cartoon network like Ben 10. The girls love Moana, princess characters like Sofia the First, or any Disney princess character.
  1. The next thing you need to do is decide on a venue and a date, of course. The earlier you make a decision, the better. Also, weekends are a great choice so parents can drive their kids to wherever the party is going to be held. Ask yourself these questions:
  • How much am I willing to spend for the party? In other words, decide on a budget.
  • How many children are we going to invite and are we also inviting the parents?
  • Do I want to host the party at my house and do all the cleaning afterwards, or should I look for another venue?

If you decide to host the party at your own home, there are clearly advantages and disadvantages. At home, you do not have to worry about time. You can have the party as late as you want but you will have to do a lot of cleaning up after.

  1. Look for party invitations and send to guests. People are so busy these days, even kids. Parents take their kids out on weekends so be sure to send out the themed invitation as early as you can so the date can be saved.
  1. Prepare the perfect outfit for your kid. With a themed birthday party, kids are more excited about their costumes. They get to dress up and get to be their favorite hero or princess for a day and nothing is more awesome for them than that.
  1. Buy decors as early as you can. You do not have to buy all of it at the same time but, at least, buy some every chance you got until you have the complete set.
  1. Decide on a menu. It is inevitable for some parents to be present at the party. So, make sure you have food for them as well. Like we suggested earlier, you can include great canapés. Gourmet food will always be appreciated.
